Views Sought on Stornoway Wind Farm Addendum (January 2012)

Lewis Wind Power is inviting local residents to view its submission of further information on its Environmental Statement for the Stornoway Wind Farm proposed for the Isle of Lewis.  The further information, known as an Addendum includes a Peat Stability Assessment, Landscape Visualisations and further information on Ornithology, Ecology and Peat Management.

Copies of the Addendum are available for public viewing at the Council’s headquarters and at the Stornoway Library, Cromwell Street.  The public is being invited to send their views on the further information to the Scottish Government by 2nd March 2012.

Ron Peddie, Project Director for Lewis Wind Power said:

The publication of this further documentation to our original plans sets out information requested by the Scottish Government and addresses issues raised by consultees.  These include about how we would manage peat excavated on the wind farm site and provides clarification on ornithology.”

“The planning application for the Stornoway Wind Farm continues to make good progress and we hope that residents will take the time to view the additional information that we are submitting to the Scottish Government.
