Public Exhibitions

The Stornoway Wind Farm has hosted a number of different public exhibitions and consultations which allowed the people of Stornoway and surrounding areas to see what the project is all about. The list of exhibitions that were held and photos from the various events can be found in the menu to the right. A variety of useful information was provided and it is hoped that each exhibition proved useful to the community. If you were unable to attend these exhibitions, please click on the link below to have a look at our leaflet that was handed out at these events.

March 2011 Public Exhibition

We would like to thank all of those Islanders who took the time to attend our Public Exhibition in March. We were extremely pleased with the number of people who stopped by Martin’s Memorial Hall in Stornoway, including some very enthusiastic school children and their teachers from Tong Primary School, Stornoway Primary School and The Nicolson Institute.

The exhibition gave attendees an opportunity to see the updated proposals for our wind farm, to meet members of our development team face to face, and to ask questions relating to the project. The pop-up stands at the exhibition told the story of the Stornoway Wind Farm so far and our proposals for the future, plase click on the links below to view these pop ups again.

3D  Model of Wind Turbine Location

The March exhibition was also enhanced by the presence of a 3D modelling animation package, which allowed visitors to get a first hand, 3D interactive image of how the turbines might appear from their home or business.

In addition to this, a range of photomontages provided gave updates on the positioning of the turbines from various points around the Island. These are now available on the website, click here to view the interactive map showing various view points and photomontages.

Please feel free to contact David Morrison, our local Community Consultation Manager if you require any further information.
